Lions de fer defeated arch rivals Remera Bufalloes 28-14 in the finals to the inaugural tens rugby tournament.

The tournament organised by Lions de fer attracted eight teams with Buffaloes recruiting Ugandan internationals, Allan Otim Kevin Makmot and James Iyongat.

Team captain Yannik Sangwa led Lions de fer from the front, scoring 3 tries and two conversions in a game filled with refereeing disputes.

It was Lions fourth trophy of the season and second in two months as they continued their domination of Rwandan rugby.

Vincent Kamali scored two tries for Remera Buffaloes and Ugandan import Allan Otim added the conversions.

After the final whistle, Sangwa expressed his delight at winning the one-day tournament and urged his teammates to carry the momentum into the national league which is scheduled to get underway on December 20.
“Our aim is to continue with this top performance even in the league,” he said.
