Amavubi U-17 coach Aloyce Kanamugire

RWANDA NATIONAL U-17 head coach, AloysKanamugire is optimistic of a positive performance ahead of the Junior Wasps’s clash against Uganda on July 18 in Kampala.

Addressing the media yesterday, Kanamugire said, “I have a new young squad which was picked in different academies and football centres across the country,”

“I have seen how Uganda play and my boys will be able to stage a good fight for qualification to the next round. I saw two or three players who might be a challenge to us but I also have measures to contain them,” said Kanamugire.

The veteran coach summoned 21 players to start preparations today. They include two Europe-based Rwandese namely striker Patrick HonoreBananeza and midfielder Kevin Muhombo all from Tubize FC in Belgium.

The Junior Wasps were exempted from the first round qualifiers and will face Uganda’s Cubs who ejected Seychelles 5-1 on aggregate.

Coach Lule has beefed up the side with seven new players who were recruited from the Airtel Rising stars football tournament.

They are resuming training today at the Njeru Technical centre. The return leg will be played in Kigali on August 2.
