AMAVUBI SKIPPERNiyonzimaHaruna is confident Rwanda will stage a fine performance against Congo Brazzaville on Sunday as the nation seeks to qualify to the next round of qualifying and attempt a return at Morocco 2015.

The Red Devils of Congo host Amavubi in the first leg of the final preliminary round of qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations slated for Sunday in Pointe-Noire

Young Africans midfielder Haruna said before departure mid this week that, “We have a positive team spirit and we are focused on securing a good result against Congo,”

“We are ready for the clash. It will not be easy but the team has picked up the rhythm and I hope we will maintain the good start we have had in this qualification round,” added Haruna.

He further added, “We will play a collective game and avoid conceding any goal as well we also try to attack. If we can have a clean sheet away, then we will do whatever it takes to win the return leg in our courtyard,”

Amavubi reach Brazzaville on Wednesday night where they had a light training on Thursday before departing for Pointe-Noir on Friday.

After Sunday’s continental qualifier, they will head to Libreville for the return international friendly match against Gabon due on July 27 before returning back to Kigali the following day.

The winner after the second leg which will be played in Kigali on August 2 will seal a Group A spot, joining South Africa, Nigeria and Sudan.
