Egyptian giants Zamalek will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in Group A of the CAF Champions League when they host Sudan’s Al Hilal on Saturday evening, kick-off at 18h00 CAT.
The ‘White Knights’ suffered a 2-1 defeat in their group phase opener away to AS Vita last weekend, with goals from Ndombe Mubele and Manu Ngudikana eclipsing Moamen Zakaria’s equaliser.
Zamalek coach Ahmed ‘Mido’ Hossam has emphasised that his side will not repeat the mistakes they made in their trip to DR Congo.
“The Al-Hilal game is a live or die encounter for us,” Mido told reporters after the defeat to Vita. “We won’t drop any points during the coming games.”
As for the Sudanese side, they head to Egypt second on the log only on goal difference after opening the group stage with a 1-0 home win over TP Mazembe. Salah Ibrahim’s goal early in the second half was enough to earn them the three points.
However, Al Hilal’s Brazilian coach Paulo Campos insists that his team still has much to learn and will enter the game against the Cairo side as underdogs.
“We are an improving team and that is what we are working on, to get better and better,” said the Brazilian.
“I know they [Zamalek] will come all out to try and get back to winning ways, but we have a solution for them.”
