Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed suggestions he has returned too early from his muscle injury after helping Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich.
Ronaldo played just over an hour of the 1-0 win having missed the last three weeks, and Marca reports Ronaldo as saying post-match that he hadn’t come back too soon.
“I didn’t force anything. I feel good,” the Portuguese insisted.
“Some people didn’t want me to play but I did and nothing happened.
“I was a little bit worried because it was my first match after three weeks but I didn’t feel any discomfort. I’ll be in perfect condition for the next games.”
Ronaldo added that he was pleased with both the result and the team’s display after Karim Benzema’s goal gave Madrid a first-leg lead.
“1-0 in the semi-final of the Champions League is good and we also played well,” the forward said.
“If we score a goal there it will make it very complicated for them to go through, so I think we will score and go on to the final.”
