Cranes Coach Micho Sredojevic has named his final 18-man squad for the friendly international against former African champions  on March 5 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

The most notable change is the dropping of Gor Mahia left fullback Godfrey Walusimbi who despite struggling to play competitive club football last years was always part of the national team and was shown red in his last appearance for the team in Morrocco when the Cranes were beaten by Senegal.

“We are not likely to have him in the next game. So, it’s better to try out someone else who will be available,” Cranes Media Officer Fred Katende Malibu told sportsmaniaug of the exclusion. He was replaced by SCVU’s Isaac Muleme on the team. Other omitted players include the KCCA trio of Tony Odur, Brian Majwega and Ivan Ntege.

Also not returning are Portugal-based duo of Alex Kakuba and William Luwagga Kizito didn’t make the final squad due poor connections from Portugal to Ndola in time for the game.

The team will meet in Zambia and train together on Monday before the game on Wednesday.
