Sir Alex Ferguson is adamant that manager David Moyes will be given the time to succeed at Manchester United.
Ferguson, who spent 27 years at the helm of United, handed over the reins to fellow Scot Moyes upon his retirement at the end of last season.
The 72-year-old guided the Red Devils to a 20th league title less than 12 months ago, but, under Moyes, the Premier League giants have struggled and are currently 18 points off top spot and 12 points off the Champions League places.
Former Everton manager Moyes has found life difficult living in the shadow of Ferguson, but has been tipped to succeed by his predecessor.
“They [Manchester United] will be all right,” said Ferguson. “It’s early days and there have been a lot of changes.
“He needs time. I was there for 27 years, so with a new manager it takes time. But they’ll be okay.”
