Robin van Persie has spoken out again to describe Manchester United’s performances this season as “lousy”.
The comments, made in the wake of the disappointing Champions League defeat against Olympiacos, will only intensify rumours that the former Arsenal man is considering his future at the club.
The Sun quotes the 30-year-old as saying: “We are lousy; in a lousy position in the league, out of the cups and this looks a difficult one also.
“We are very disappointed. It’s a tough season.”
The quotes follow on from reports early on Thursday that Van Persie is uncertain whether to remain at Manchester United and will consider his future in the summer.
According to a report in the Guardian, the player has no release clause in his contract and the club will resist any attempt by the player to force a move.
Having fired United to the title last season, Van Persie is said to be disappointed with Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to retire and voiced his frustration with some Manchester United players following his side’s 2-0 defeat to olympiacos on Tuesday.
