RWAMAGANA FC came from behind to snatch a 1/16th Peace Cup qualification after eliminating UNR in a match played on Wednesday at Ferwafa turf.
The Eastern Province hopefuls conceeded three goals by half time but made a brilliant comeback to equalise by stroke of full time.
The winner had to be decided on penalties which Rwamagana easily won 6-5 to set up a clash against defending champions AS Kigali in the 1/16th round which will be played on March 18.
Besides AS Kigali, APR and Rayon Sports will face econd division clubs Akagera and Sunrise in the knockout phase.
It’s only in the 1/8 and 1/4 were clubs will play two-legs. Rayon Sports, who won the national league title last season might face AS Kigali in the 1/8 with the winner due to face APR in the 1/4 should all clubs manage to progress to the last eight.
The winner between Rayon Sports and APR in the quarter finals will face SC Kiyovu in the semi final.
Police also face a stern against Mukura in the 1/8 should they manage to progress. The final will be played on July 4.
Last year, AS Kigali made light work of AS Muhanga, earning a 3-0 to lift the Peace cup title.
