RWANDA Football Federation, Ferwafa has terminated the contract for Secretary General Michel Gasingwa after a three-year reign at the helm of the federation.
Ferwafa said in a statement on Friday evening, “We have amicably terminated the contract of former Secretary General Michel Gasingwa,”
“The Executive Committee of Ferwafa would like to request whoever is interested to apply for the vacant position,” added the statement.
The Federation’s Secretary General is an important figure in the daily operation of the football house because he links the employees body with the executive committee, coordinates all the operations of football in the country.
Gasingwa has been holding the role since 2011 when he replaced Jules Kalisa who resigned after an 8-year reign.
Among the requirements for this vacant position include; holding at least a bachelor degree in Public Administration or Law, Management or Sport Management with atleast five years of working experience.
The candidate should have five years’ experience in football organisations management especially at an executive committee level and possess a strong analytical skills and a proven track record of leadership and team coordination.
Other desired skills for this position include; fluency in oral and written English or French and knowledge in Swahili is an added advantage, strong ability to organise and prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and targets, strong interpersonal and negotiating ability, ability to work as a leader and a team member as well as hold a driving licence category B.
Ferwafa added that this is a senior executive management position at the national federation which requires a flexible, hardworking, an entrepreneur and someone with demonstrated experience in football organisations management.
The Secretary General will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Ferwafa, including the overall management of all staff and will be accountable to Ferwafa activities.
