Banned Esperance coach Camarade Banamwana
FERWAFA’S disciplinary committee has taken tough decisions and penalties on Esperance coach Camarade Banamwana and Etincelles Fc over indisciplinary grounds.
According to the head of Ferwafa’s disciplinary committee Jeff Kajangwe told the media on Thursday evening saying that Camarade faces an 8-match ban and a Rwf. 100,000 for comfronting the match referee.
He was accused of the wrongdoing after Esperance lost Gicumbi 1-0 at Mumena in the first leg last year.
Kajangwe said,”The stand on Banamwana’s punishment was taken after accessing the gravity of the issue and keeping in mind that he failed to appear before the disciplinary committee when summoned. We informed him to appear before the committee and no response was given from him or any club official,”
However Banamwana said, “I never comfronted the referee but what I did was to question match commissioner Francois Rwirasira why they had to appoint Balthazar Ahishakiye to officiate the game against Gicumbi when he actually resides in the same area. After that I returned back to my seat,”
Banamwana will be allowed back on the turf as the head coach during the final match of the season when they play away to Gicumbi on May 31.
League club Etincelles will also play their next match without any fans in the stadium after their fans exhibited unruly behaviors when the club lost to Esperance 3-1 at Umuganda stadium a week ago.
Etincelles will host Police Fc on March 8 at Umuganda stadium.
Their first-choice goalkeeper Freddy Mukadi Ilunga and their lead fan Claver Rudodo were hit with a six-match ban and a fine of Rwf. 100,000 respectively.
