Adams shocked at Ghana callup

Stephen Adams

Aduana Stars goalkeeper Stephen Adams did not expect to be called for Ghana’s next friendly even after great showings recently.

He was terrific in the recently-ended African Nations Championships and has been duly rewarded with a shot at Ghana’s next friendly against Montenegro on March 5.

“I wasn’t expecting to be called and it has come as a big surprise to me. With the likes of Fatau And Kwarasey and all the other good goalkeepers in the country, I honestly did not think I will get this opportunity but all the same I am ready to do my best if given the chance to play,” Adams said is quoted as saying by All Sports.

Conspicuously missing was Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, who has fallen out of favour because of his minimal number of games at the South African club.

The Montenegro friendly will be played at the Stadium Pod Goricum in the country’s capital, Podgorica.
