The Confederation of African football federations (CAF) has appointed Rwandan referees for the Africa Confederation Cup 1st leg tie between Kenya’s AFC Leopards against Ethiopia’s Defence FC scheduled for mid February.
Centre referee Gervais Munyanziza will be assisted by Honarie Simba as the 1st Assistant, Raymond Bwiliza 2nd Assistant, while Abdoul Twagiramukiza will be the fourth official with Ugandan Abbas Ssendyowa being the match commissioner.
Kenya’s Cup champions AFC Leopards have presented a list of 29 players to CAF for this year’s Confederation Cup championships.
The draw for the 11th edition of the Confederation Cup was held on December 16, 2013 in Marrakech, Morocco.
Forty-two clubs will be involved in the preliminary round to be joined by ASEC Mimosas , Ismaily , Wadi Degla , Djoliba , MAS , Bayelsa United , Warri Wolves, El Ahly Shandy , Etoile du Sahel Club Athletic Bizertin and Zesco United at the 1/16th round.
Under Coach James Nandwa, AFC Leopards has recruited heavily and will be banking on the experience of the deep squad for a good performance in continental competition as well as challenging for the league title currently held by rivals Gor Mahia.
Back on the local scene, Rayon Sports will take on AC Leopards from Congo Brazzavile while AS Kigali will trek neighbours Academie Tchite from Burundi.
