Rwanda has named a strong U17 World Cup qualifying team to prepare for the 2015 Fifa U-17 World Cup edition due in Chile.
The team was named by Coach Richard Tardy last week and they have kicked off preparations.
Frenchman Tardy, also Rwanda football technical director, made history when he led the country’s U-17 team to the final of the African Youth Championships in Kigali in 2011, and subsequently to the U-17 Fifa World Cup finals in Mexico the same year.
Besides the U-17 team, Tardy also coaches the U-20 national team.
Last year, Rwanda was eliminated in the two youth championships on the continent in the qualifying stages and Tardy is keen to build stronger sides for both categories going forwards.
