COACH Cedric Kaze has called upon Mukura FC players to stand up tall when they play Police on Saturday in the eighth round of the Turbo King Football league match at Kamena grounds.
The Burundian-born tactician whose side lost a second consecutive league match against APR and Rayon Sports last week said the players have no option but to respond from the previous winless streak with a powerful finish in Saturday’s match.
Kaze said the players need to rediscover their confidence to have a better performance after experiencing a rather dull start to the season.
“I call upon the players to go out and seek positive results against Police. They are one of the teams you cannot afford to underestimate especially now after losing their previous match against AS Kigali. It calls for us to be better on the day,”
“Our players must be a undergoing what I can term as lack of self confidence after a series of bad results. Against Police, we need to bounce back,” added Kaze.
However, Mukura will miss three of their pivotal players Ildesbrand Nshuti, Hamidou Simpenzwe and Sulaiman Mudeyi with knee, ankle and shoulder injuries sustained against Rayon Sports in which they lost 1-0.
Mukura who started the season shelling AS Muhanga 4-1, stands ninth on the league standings with nine points after winning three matches and losing four respectively.
Going by statistics, Mukura has had an edge over Police in four of the past matches played in Huye since 2010. Mukura was won two and drawn twice against the Cops side.
Their rivals Police will also be out to look for a win after losing heavily to AS Kigali 3-0 last weekend at Kicukiro turf. Police is placed seventh with 11 points in seven matches played this season.
