Fifa grants Togo FA $850,000Fifa has allocated the sum of $850,000 (R 7.8m) to Togo Football Federation (FTF) to cover development projects in 2013 and 2014, a team of the world’s football governing body said in Lome on Friday.

A joint delegation of Fifa and Caf wrapped up a week’s visit to the West African nation on Friday and announced the good tidings at a press conference.

Part of the funds will be used to consolidate the progress made so far in the organisation of the domestic Division 1 and 2 leagues, said Cyril Loisel, head of development programs at Fifa.

The Fifa and Caf delegation also discussed with local officials the setting up of women’s

championship, the creation of a national technical direction and the implementation of strategies to promote an adequate process for the management of a modern football.

Togo domestic leagues were suspended for more than a year following internal crises at the football federation. However, since the return of normalcy last year, clubs have been participating in local and continental competitions.
