Striker Peter Kagabo scored a second half equaliser as Police came from behind to hold Isonga to a 1-all draw in the Primus National Football League match played on Saturday at Amahoro stadium.
Isonga had secured a second minute goal courtesy of Justin Mico and Police had to fight hard to close the margin despite missing some vital chances of scoring.
With the draw, Police remains on fifth position but is jointly tied on 12 points with APR and Musanze.
In other matches, Kiyovu beat Mukura 1-0 courtesy of Djabir Mutarambirwa’s effort at Stade de Kigali. SC Kiyovu leads the points log with 18 points, five ahead of AS Kigali who played out a goalless draw against Musanze FC in Musanze.
Espoir secured maximum points against visitors Amagaju in Rusizi while AS Kigali forced Musanze to a goalless draw at home.
Rubavu-based clubs Etincelles and Marines saw their nail-biting derby ending in a goalless draw.
On Saturday, Jean Paul Havugimana ‘Raro’ scored his first goal of the season as La Jeunesse picked up a 1-0 win over AS Muhanga.
Havugimana scored from a long range on the hour to provide the breakthrough in a drizzly afternoon for the visitors, who were frustrated for long periods by Muhanga’s obstinate rearguard performance.
The win moved the youthful side one position from seventh to sixth with 11 points in six matches, while Muhanga remain tenth with six points.
