Etincelles Football team players
VETERAN coach Ladjab Bizumuremyi has been sacked by Primus National Football side Etincelles after the Rubavu-based side failed to overturn the poor run of results that have seen the club languishing near the bottom of the table.
The club chairman Christian Dukuze said on Saturday that Bizumuremyi was relieved of his duties with immediate effect and will be replaced by technical director Hamdun Nshimiyimana until a permanent replacement is named.
“I can confirm that Bizumuremyi is no longer coach of Etincelles. He is not with us anymore. We have asked him to step down after a series of poor results. The club will look for another coach is the coming days,” Dukuze said.
He added, “We are now assessing possible replacements but, in the meantime, the Technical Director will be in charge of the team.”
Only recently, assistant coach Mohamed Ntibatega resigned from his duties, citing personal reasons.
Two seasons ago, Etincelles were representing Rwanda in the Orange CAF Confederation Cup after finishing second in the league albeit profiting from the decision by Atraco, who had finished second, to withdraw from the league.
The Rubavu-based outfit is bottom with two points after seven matches.
