Rwanda tennis federation is set to adopt a ranking system for their national championship set to begin on July 26 to August 3 at Cercle Sportif in Rugunga, Kigali city.
The chairman of Rwanda Tennis Federation Theoneste Karenzi said over the weekend that the ranking system will be introduced so as to enable them in elevating the game to a high level.
“It is an international system which categorizes players and further helps to motivate them to work harder to better themselves,” Karenzi.
There will be three categories involved in the tournament, men, women and U-16.
The tournament will the first in a series of competitions that will award points to players and officials in the tennis federation are optimistic it will motivate players and increase competition.
