Rwanda rider Adrien Niyonshuti

Rwanda rider Adrien Niyonshuti has vowed not to promise heaven by winning a medal in London but has stated that he will battle for a good improved performance when he competes in the summer Olympic games.

Niyonshuti made the declaration at his pre-games training camp in Switzerland saying, “I cant lie to the public that i can win a medal in London,”

“I will work hard and ensure that i snatch a good position in the Mountain bike race,”

“It will be a bitter challenge as many of the elite cyclists are all aiming for medals,” said Niyonshuti.

“I have managed to improve my performances in every competition and my target will be to even further stage a convincing performance in London,” added Niyonshuti.

The country’s cycling specialist joins his teams at the Games Village of the 2012 London Olympic Games at Stratford on July 26 before battling in the Men’s cross country mountain bike competition a fortnight after.

Swimmers Jackson Niyomugabo and Alphonse Agahozo, marathon runner Jean Pierre Mvuyekure, Robert Kajuga and Claudette Mukasakindi (both 10,000m), judo player Yannick Uwase Sekamana are the other atheletes set to represent Rwanda at the Olympics which kick off next Friday.
