As it had earlier been reported by FERWACY, Rwanda’s cycling running body, prizes were awarded according to participating teams as opposed to individuals. Team Benediction which won the race last year scooped the first prize again, worth 400,000 Rfw. CCA from Huye came second and went home with a cash prize of 300,000 Rfw, while in third position was Kiramuruzi Cycling team who also went home 200,000 Frw richer.
The tour which had brought together fifty four cyclists from nine teams is held on annual basis with the aim of preparing athletes adequately for major international cycling tours. In November, FERWACY will be organizing the annual tour of Rwanda that is expected to attract a host of countries from the region as well as from overseas.
