Rwanda’s APR Volleyball club picked up their first win in group B against Congo’s Inter by winning 3 sets to nil at the ongoing volleyball champions’ league in Tunis, Tunisia. In the opening game APR had lost to GSU of Kenya 3-0 on Saturday and the win against Inter couldn’t have come at a better time.
APR now face an uphill task as they take on Al Ahly of Egypt and Esperance of Tunisia in their next fixtures. So far four teams have advanced to the quarter finals and they include Esperance, Etoile du Sahel both from Tunisia, Algeria’s Bejaia and Al Ahly of Egypt. There are 21 teams in participating in the tournament.
If APR are to advance to the quarter finals, they have to win their next two fixtures which include Esperance and Al Ahly.
In other matches played in group B Esperance beat GSU of Kenya 3-0 while Al Ahly also beat of Egypt also thrashed Angola’s Agosto 3-0.
